I have a NetGear router which I use to connect to wireless Internet. It has been acting up lately. I have many wireless devices at home (HP Laptop, Macbook, iPad, phones...etc), but sometimes, all I need is one to connect to the Internet.

I'm currently doing research into emerging technologies for an ICT project at college and I want to know if there are any current useful applications of wireless energy. I have done fine work in wireless energy transfer, though it is just a travesty of already available work. I am pursuing. Although my done work never have been recognized. I regularly contacted many professors and faculties to guide me in paper publishing process but none of them really took interest as my patron. Now I want to publish my paper ( i am capable of doing research work in many demanding fields). I am adroit in computer peripheral development as well as in software . I know DSP well.

I am looking to buy a wireless receiver that has a latching relay in it, similar to the ones that are used in gate opening or garage door systems. The receiver should be able to operate with dc electricity. I found one of digikey.com which can work at a range of up to 1000 feet, but it cost around $59.94. So i was wondering if anyone knew where i can buy one for cheaper. I just need the receiver to be able to work at a range of at least 150 feet.
