I have recently switched to O2 broadband. I've set-up my new O2 wireless router and set-up my computer to connect wirelessly. Everything was fine for the rest of that day. Then I turn my router off that night, then the next morning I turn my router on and boot up my computer. And nothing happens. It doesn't connect. So I open my network settings, and by the wireless network name it says exactly "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network". It won't let me click connect.
My internet stops working when I have on my AC and TV, but when I take off either of those or both, it starts working again. Could this be because there isn't sufficient power getting to my wireless router? Can the internet be affect by how much electrical power is running through the wires?
I called the Time Warner Cable people and they said that it shouldn't be the case that the power affects it, but the guy I spoke to said he wasn't sure and that he would call a technical specialist and get back to me.
NOTES:
My computer, TV, and AC are all in separate wall outlets.
regular usage of wireless router is almost zero during sleeping night hours.
Question, other than unplug solution, is there a way to schedule switch off hours? Although Router modem consume small amount of energy per house hold....it may turns into a larger amount of energy saving when multiplied by number of North American homes.... Witricity: explain witric..
My Dad claims that he saw something on tv today that said a wireless router and a cable modem if left plugged in for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, accounts for up to 10-25% of your monthly HOUSEHOLD power consumption. I feel this is total bull, the LED lights just mess with his OCD (he's a nut when it comes to electricity use). My question is, is there anything I can show him to prove him otherwise? Does anybody know how much power these things actually use?
My router is - Netgear 54MBS Wireless model WGR614 v7
My modem is - Arris CM450A

He's about 3 years old so he's pretty young. He's usually pretty active. Yesterday I noticed he was sleeping on he bottom of the cage, with his head tucked under his wing. This morning he was doing the same thing so I separated him from his buddy and put him in a different cage. I tried giving him some diluted energy drink but he just let it dribble down his chest. So I mixed up some Kaytee Exact Baby Bird formula and made it really watery and gave that to him through a dropper. I thought it was just dribbling down his chest too but I felt that his crop was full so I stopped.
