I've a really simple home network set up, my laptop and my main pc are both connected to my wireless hub, they're both on the same workgroup so I can see them in my network places in windows and exchange files between the two. Is it possible to be able to, for example use my laptop to put my main computer into sleep/hibernate and wake it remotely? This way I can sleep and wake it up when necessary to use files etc, and will save energy. Witricity powered: witric power.
We have a massively wired house (pre-wireless!) with a patch panel where the cable internet connection comes in, connected to the router and the cable modem. Desktop computer is in another room, connected to the wall. We have a non-networked local (USB) laser printer connected to the desktop computer and keep the desktop computer on all the time so we can print with our 2 wireless laptops. We use all three computers regularly.
