I just moved in with a rommate, and am trying to get internet access. I am not computer savvy at all! I put the monitor and tower in place and plugged it in to electricity. I'm not sure why I'm only getting a blank monitor screen, first of all. Am I forgetting to do something?

The power is on to the monitor and tower, and hooked up to each other. The keyboard and mouse are hooked up. The monitor screen only shows the green and red 'is working' flash on and off, otherwise black.
