Witric Power - Witricity Explained

Overview:
My housemate is 48 and does not know much about computers except for going online on her laptop. I bought a wireless router months ago as when I moved in with her she only had a DSL internet so I bought a wireless router so we can both use the net and it's easier etc. I told her ages ago that we should not turn off the router all the time as as far as I'm concerned you don't really turn it off as it might destroy the router after some time. She's a very very thrifty and energy efficient concerned person and thinks that a wireless router on will make our energy bill really high. Lately, I've observed that I've been getting a lot of connection interruptions when I'm on and it's getting worse. I've asked some techie people and was told it might be because we always turn it off and then on to use it then OFF again coz my housemate wants to. How do I convince her in words she will grasp that we have to leave it on or else it might destroy my router and it's not much energy used? Witricity powered: go witric!
