Witric Power - Witricity Explained

OK so i bought gh3 for ps2 and also bought a warranty thing for 3$. so i got home and went to play it and at first it worked fine... but then i shut off the guitar (its wireless because i bought the gh3 bundle). the next time i went to play it, it wouldnt get any signal. so i put in new batteries, and it worked fine, but then randomly stopped getting signal while i was playing. so i would have to shut it off and turn it back on real quick, and then it would work. but once i would be done playing the same thing would happen- it wouldnt get signal until i changed the batteries, and i thought that it was just using all the energy, but the batteries worked fine on other stuff when i tested them... is there something im doing wrong? or do i just have a messed up controller and should exchange it?
